It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the latest addition to DT Australia’s sales team. Despite been new to the world of mining, Kirstie Harry has dived into her new role as sales coordinator both feet first.
“My first impression of DT Australia is that it’s a company going through tremendous growth and is taking steps to be progressive in the industry. Not only that, but the people that work here are incredibly friendly and welcoming – which helped alleviate my first day jitters,” said Kirstie.
Originally from Canada, Kirstie decided to move to Australia after visiting in early 2016 with her husband for a family wedding.
“I fell in love with the country during the first week of my three-week visit. We left Canada and moved to Perth in March 2017 and haven’t looked back ever since,” she said.
Kirstie not only brings valuable sales experience to the team but also a passion for mental health, saying that it’s important to break down the stigma as it affects people in all walks of life and all different levels.
“I’ve done a lot of volunteer work for different non-profit organisations in the past. From assisting at distress and crisis call centres to helping run art therapy programs for kids at art museums.
“Now that the American football season is over, I’m hoping to find a local non-profit organisation to volunteer at during this offseason,” said Kirstie.
